Bio
Dr. Andrew Bean originally comes to us from Pennsylvania, very close to another one of the Great Lakes, Lake Erie. Dr. Bean initially pursued a career in the human medical field but found veterinary medicine more to his liking since it was able to combine his love for animals and high quality medicine. Since he decided to make the switch, he has worked in nearly all levels of the veterinary field during his undergraduate and graduate studies. Dr. Bean earned his B.S. at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania and his DVM at The Ohio State University, and has since become a fervent Buckeye fan.
Dr. Bean comes from a background in both small animal general practice and emergency medicine with particular interests in soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and feline medicine. He believes strongly in a scientific approach to treatment and the importance of educating pet owners in addition to making them partners in their pet's health.
He is thrilled to now be in Chicago with his rescue cat, Zelda. When not in the clinic Dr. Bean loves being near the water and likes to spend as much time on the lake as possible. You can find him on the beaches or exploring the many Chicago neighborhoods and he is always looking for new and fun places in the city to visit.
