Boulevard Veterinary

Services

In keeping with our Core Value of Best Patient and Client care, we provide gold standard medical care through regular review and implementation of best practices guided by the standards of the American Animal Hospital Association. We are a modern, state-of-the-art veterinary practice where veterinary medicine is our sole focus.

  • Puppy & Kitten Care

Our tailored puppy and kitten care is not only a chance for us to set your pet up with their first core vaccines, but to establish a good relationship with them so they learn that coming to the vet isn’t such a scary thing!

  • Vaccinations

We tailor our vaccinations based on the lifestyle and age of your pet. Here in Chicago, our pets can be exposed to many potential illnesses but we immunize each patient for their individual preventative needs.

  • Spay & Neuter Services

On average, altered pets live longer, healthier lives. We achieve this by advocating for the safe and common practices of spaying and neutering at an appropriate age. We recommend that you get your pet spayed or neutered for numerous reasons.

  • Laser Therapy

Laser therapy, otherwise known as, photobiomodulation, consists of concentrating beams of light that travel at a particular frequency to generate increased blood flow, amongst other effects, assisting in healing and reduction of pain in our pets.

  • General & Specialty Surgery

We follow AAHA guidelines and maintain meticulously cleaned designated surgical suites. For every surgical procedure, in addition to the Veterinarian, we have two dedicated Veterinary Technicians on the Procedure Team.

  • Nutrition Counseling

Every pet can benefit from nutrition counseling to achieve a long healthy life. We consider individual medical conditions, activity level, potential allergies and pet preferences when making our recommendations.

  • Pet Allergies

The most common allergens we see in pets are to insects (think fleas), environment, like weeds or molds, and food. Allergies are one of the most common and complex diseases we see in veterinary medicine.

  • Parasite Prevention

We work to prevent and treat both endoparasites and ectoparasites and are always looking to find the most convenient and effective options available. While we can’t help that parasites exist, we can stop them from causing illness in our pets.

  • Comprehensive Oral Treatment

Dental care is important for your pet’s overall health. Outside of oral hygiene and comfort, the gum line can be an avenue for bacteria to enter the bloodstream and affect organ health. We recommend a Complete Oral Treatment once a year.

  • Skin Care

Skin allergies are common in pets. Causes can include flea allergies, environmental allergies, and food allergies, among others. When your pet visits us, our main goal is to make them more comfortable by breaking the itch cycle and reducing skin inflammation.

  • Sick Pet Care

We are ready to investigate and treat your pet’s medical concerns when they’re sick. We are able to perform in-house diagnostics to immediately evaluate for internal organ dysfunction, infection, and trauma.

  • Specialist Referrals

When cases warrant further investigation, we work with board certified specialists. All of our specialty partners provide us with written reports of their visits which keep us up to date on exactly what is happening with your pet.

  • Heartworm Care

Heartworm disease is life-threatening and takes several months to treat. Sadly, this completely preventable disease is becoming more prevalent in the United States each year. Our tailored heartworm treatment plans are guided by the American Heartworm Society.

  • In-House Labs

We use a combination of In-House and Referral Laboratory services in order to provide the most accurate and timely information needed for each case. Additionally, we recommend specific Wellness blood work panels based on the age of your pet.

  • Acupuncture & Chiropractic

I am Dr. Veronica Cruz and I am truly excited to begin offering veterinary acupuncture and veterinary spinal manipulation therapy (VSMT) to the patients of BLVD Vet Logan Square. The majority of my patients come to me with mobility concerns associated with age or previous injury, though I have used acupuncture in conjunction with traditional western medicine to address various conditions such as: urinary obstruction, pancreatitis, inappropriate urination, kidney disease and various neurologic conditions, when appropriate and safe.

  • In-House Ultrasound Imaging

Our very own ultrasound-certified Veterinary Technicians will be collaborating with a virtual licensed sonographer to perform real-time abdominal ultrasounds and echocardiograms on your pets right at BLVD Vet.
